Hello

As we know that Assam suffers from regular and heavy rainfall.Even Cherrapunji the city receiving highest rainfall is located in the state of Assam. So the citizens of the state need to protect their houses from drowning and thats why they build them on silts.

Because the amount of rainfall in Assam is very large because of which the roofs are built in slantsso that water won't be on the top of the roof.

floods r very frequent in assam so the houses r built on stilts.

assam is a state whose most of the parts are prone to frequent floods.Houses are made on silts to make them on little higher. So ,flood water don't flood inside

It is done so because it rains alot

The houses in Assam are built on stilts as this region receives heavy rainfall which cause the water level during that season to rise high which often enters houses. So to prevent this thing to happen houses in Assam are being built on stilts
