THE ERTH IS CALLED A BLUE PLANET:-

1) DUE TO THE PRESENCE OF HUGE AMOUNT OF WATER ON ITS SURFACE.

2)2/3 OF THE EEARTH'S SURFACE IS COVERED WITH WATER.

3)90% OF THE TOTAL WATER IS FOUND IN OCEANS.

 

because earth contain a very large number of water

 

 

Earth is the only planet that has 75 % water. Since water appears blue ( coz the dispersion of blue colour is more the water appears blue ) the planet also appears blue as water is present in large amounts.

 

When astronauts first saw the Earth from space, it looked blue due to the presence of water all over it. So it is called the Watery or Blue Planet.
