Colonial rule affected tribal people in many ways:

1.The nomadic people could not move from place to place becanuse the colonial governmented wanted to rule over a setteled population.

2.Pastoralists communities lost their grazing lands.

3.THey were called as criminal tribes.

There are many ways in which colonial rule affect the people.one of the ways are Forest laws and their impact .

The forest passed by the colonial rule had an considerable effect on tribal people

  1. they were not allowed to practise jhum cultivation
  2. they were not allowed to move freely
  3. they were not allowed to collect fruits and vegetables

 

The other ways are :-

  1. the problem with trade
  2. the search for work
  3. the problem with shifting cultivators and tribal chiefs
 

The forest law  passed by the colonial rule had an considerable effect on tribal people:

  1. they were not allowed to practise jhum cultivation
  2. they were not allowed to move freely
  3. they were not allowed to collect fruits and vegetables
 

when the britishers came to india they acquired or say snacthed more than 50% of the land which affected the tribe in following ways:-

1,their living and recreation area was reduced

2,they were turned into slaves

3,they went on stealing things for their survival for which they were punished and named criminals

The tribals were traditionally a very close - knit community.They prefered to live in isolation and did not want to encorage outsiders into thier community. British rule led to many changes in the tribals set - up .Some of them are -

    5.Role of traders and moneylenders
