While covering a distance of of 30 km.Ajeet takes 2 hrs more than amit.If Ajeet doubles his speed , he would take 1 hr less than Amit.Find their speeds of walking.

Now solve these then you will get the answer,

30/x=30\y + 2 (distance=time*speed)

30/y= 30\2x + 1 (distance=time*speed)

**NEW SPEED:2X km/hr Y**

**DIST:30 km 30**

**NEW TIME:30/2X HR 30/Y**

**30/X=30/Y+2**

**30/2X=30/Y-1**

let ajeet's speed be 'x' km/h

let amit's speed be 'y' km/h

Ajeet takes 2 hrs more than amit.

30/x - 30/y =2

1/x - 1/y = 1/15

15y - 15x= xy .........(1)

If Ajeet doubles his speed , he would take 1 hr less than Amit.

30/y - 30/2x = 1

60x - 30y = 2xy

30x - 15y = xy .........(2)

adding the equations (1) & (2)

15y - 15x= xy

__30x- 15y= xy__

15x=xy

y=15

substituting the value of y in eqn. (1)

15y - 15x= xy

225 - 15x = 15x

225=30x

x=7.5

therefore the speed of ajeet is 7.5 km/h and that of amit is 15 km/h.
