Water resources are managed by engineers who build canals, dams, storage systems etc.It is basically a civil engineering science and it includes water pollution, sewage solution management and effluent treatment plants.It is an interdisciplinary field that involves civil engineering, environmental engineering and geosciences. The major areas of work include storage, supply, consumption and distribution to different parts of the society.
