What Is It

Cytogenetics is a branch of genetics that studies the cellular components and heredity, i.e. the chromosomes. It is a combined science of genetics and cytology that is often used to identify abnormalities in plants/ animals and pathogenic conditions.

Qualification

10+2 with science, Graduation with life sciences (BSc Biology, BSc, Agriculture, BVSC, MBBS)and masters/ PhD in cytogenetics

Scope

Universities, and research organization, plant and animal breeding departments, educational institutes, clinical research.
