What Is It
It is the study of variation in genes in a group of individuals. It deals with the statistical analysis of the inheritance and prevalence of particular genes in populations. It is closely linked with evolutionary genetics. It is used to study mutations, survival of mutants, cross breeding and characteristics. They study is ften used in breeding of farm animals as well as in crop plants.
Qualification
10+2 with science, Graduation with life sciences (BSc Biology, BSc, Agriculture, BVSC, MBBS)and masters/ PhD in population genetics
