What Is It

Pathology is study of disease, its causes, development, consequences, and manifestations. Those involved in the laboratory pathology are called pathologists. They diagnose the diseases through laboratory processes of testing body fluids or tissues for set parameters.

Qualification

For clinical pathology, one needs to study medicine (MBBS, BVSc) and then proceed with MD in Pathology. Further specialization like speech pathology, forensic pathology and so on can also be studied.

Scope

Pathologists work at laboratories, hospitals, universities, industries or governmental agencies. Most pathologists work in hospital clinics and laboratories and conduct the laboratory assessments to help physicians interpret the condition of their patients.
