Freedom Art Contest – What Does Freedom Mean to YOU?

‘Where the mind is without fear’, this is how Nobel laureate Rabindranath Tagore expressed what freedom means. This word can mean different things to different people. For few, it can mean the ability to be able to breathe in clean air, for others, it may imply access to equal opportunities. Mahatma Gandhi, in fact, has also emphasised that ‘Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes.’

Independence Day is just around the corner and it is time for us to wonder what Freedom means to us. We would, especially like to understand how our students imagine what ‘Freedom’ is, in a contemporary setting. For the great leaders fighting during the struggle for independence, Freedom meant self-rule, the ability to govern ourselves, rather than be subservient to the British Crown. Since then, the meaning of freedom has evolved.

Keeping the above in mind, Extramarks has launched the Freedom Art Contest. Under this contest, we’re inviting artworks from school-going students which depict FREEDOM.

Top entries will win exciting vouchers from Extramarks.
