Every year, lakhs of aspirants take the Joint Entrance Examination to secure their place at the most coveted institutes in the country- IITs, NITs, IIITs and several GFTIs (Government Funded Technical Institutes).  The pattern for the examination keeps changing and it is crucial to keep yourself updated about the latest developments in the examination pattern.

How to Gear Up for the Examination?

IIT JEE Mains 2019 is just a month away. The exam will be conducted twice – in January as well as in April 2019. Thereafter, for students qualifying phase I, JEE Mains will be conducted in the third week of May 2019. In order to clear the first phase of examination, we bring to you some quick suggestions, which if followed, can create a lot of difference.

  • Familiarize yourself with the exam pattern: The exam will be a 3-hour test conducted online and hence it is mandatory for students to familiarize themselves with the overall look and feel of the examination. There will be 30 questions each from Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. All questions will be objective, rewarding 4 marks for the correct answer and deducting 1 mark for an incorrect response.
  • Strategize your game-play: While one must understand all the topics, during the last few days one can benefit from laying more stress on some easily scorable and high weightage topics from the exam point of view. Pay attention to your strengths and weaknesses and practice accordingly.
  • Understand any bottle-neck concepts: Due to the vast syllabus of IIT JEE, it is quite possible that you still face difficulty understanding some of the underlying concepts related to important topics. We recommend clearing any bottle-necks to ensure that your confidence doesn’t waiver during the examination.
  • Practice time-based mock tests: Practice as many mock tests as you can to champion your race against time. Practice time allocation for different sections and try out different strategies to see what works best for you.
