Ours is an era of latest communication technologies. However, we use some old methods in formal communications. One of such objects of communication is Notice. Notices are used to bring something into the attention of others. There are public and private communications. So also there are private notices and public notices. Some notices are very colorful, some are very small, some are wordy, and some notices appear in other media such as newspapers.
The purpose of a notice is to announce or display information to a specific group of people. Notices are generally meant to be pinned up on specific display boards whether in schools or in public places. There are different types of notices based on the purpose for which they are issued.
A notice should contain the following elements: 1) The name of the organization, institution or office issuing the notice, 2) The title ‘NOTICE’ to capture the attention of the public, 3) A suitable eye catching caption or heading, 4) The date of issuing of the notice 4) The details of the schedule or the purpose for which it is issued 6) The writer’s signature, name and designation.
