Homes and Places
Home is where the heart is. It is indeed a place which makes one feel most comfortable. There is an abundance of words that describe different types of homes and dwellings. It is useful to learn such words, as it provides opportunities for communicative uses of language along with enriching one’s vocabulary.
Humans and other living beings live in different kinds of settlements and dwellings. This concept is derived from the fact that different species have adapted the way they live, in order to survive and be comfortable. There are different kinds of dwellings and places; for example, people live in their houses, but soldiers live in barracks, and nuns live in a convent. In the similar manner, we should know that a convict is kept in a prison, and an asylum is a shelter to lunatics. Amongst animals, horses live in stable and burrow is an abode to hares.
