A proverb is a short and wise saying with a deep meaning. It expresses a truth or small bits of useful wisdom. It expresses a truth based on common sense or experience.
It is a short and pithy saying that expresses some traditionally held truth. It is usually metaphorical and often, for the sake of memorability, alliterative. And, as so many proverbs offer advice and uplift, many of them are religious in origin.
“A picture paints a thousand words.”….means a complex idea can be conveyed with just a single still image, or an image of a subject conveys its meaning/essence more effectively than a description does.
In Proverbs, gaining wisdom also makes us good and vice versa. It is a masterful understanding of life, the art of living, and an expertise in good decision-making.

In many countries, proverbs are a vanishing heritage associated mostly with the rural world. This notion needs to be addressed.
