Write an essay on the topic ‘AMBITION’.

    Marks:10
    Answer:

    Ambition

    Introduction-

“It is a grand thing to rise in the world. The ambition to do so is the very salt of the earth. It is the parent of all enterprise, and the cause of all improvement.” —Anthony Trollope

    Thesis Statement-

Ambition is a strong desire to do or achieve something. A life without any ambition is like a boat without its oar. The boat moves but not in a proper direction. In the same way, an ambitionless life of a person will have no purpose.

    Body Paragraph-

    • A strong will-power and determination will carry a person forward against all obstacles. Different people have different ambitions. Some aim to become teachers, soldiers, artists, politicians, doctors, engineers etc. Some try to amass wealth and some run after the name and fame. There are others who aim to serve humanity. One should have a noble aim in life and strive hard honestly, sincerely and with dedication to achieve it.
    • A person with an ambition should not be dependent upon circumstances. He should move ahead facing all the odds and difficulties that hinder his progress. He should have the firm determination to achieve his aim. His will-power and determination will carry him forward. Obstacles in his way will not lead him astray.
    • An ideal person always tries to achieve his goal. Aspiring for great things in life is human tendency. The youth of today wants to scale the greater heights of success. If we dream for the stars, we will at least reach the moon.
    • Different people have different ambitions in life. The nature of ambition varies from persons to person. It depends upon one’s family background, upbringing, social status and economic condition.
    • German playwright, Paul Thomas Mann said, “There are two kinds of men in this world, men of thought and men of action. “Think like the men of thought and act like the men of action.” Our actions are preceded by our thoughts. We are judged only by our deeds. Thus, we must do right action and try to avoid immoral or bad action.

    Conclusion-

One’s motive and one’s aim in life should be noble and good. One should not try to fulfill one’s ambition by foul means. In short, one should have a noble aim in life. One’s action should be directed towards the nation’s prosperity. One should strive hard honestly, sincerely and with dedication to achieve it.

Write an essay on the topic ‘EMPATHY’.

    Marks:10
    Answer:

    Empathy

    Introduction-

Empathy begins with understanding life from another person's perspective. Nobody has an objective experience of reality. It's all through our own individual prisms.

    Thesis Statement-

Empathy is more a sense that we can truly understand, relate to, or imagine the depth of another person’s emotional state or situation. It implies feeling with a person, rather than feeling sorry for a person.

    Body Paragraph-

    • Empathy is one of the most important aspects of creating harmonious relationships, reducing stress, and enhancing emotional awareness.
    • Empathy cannot be expected from everybody. It is an emotion which is predominant in very few individuals.
    • When one is willing to get real about how he/she truly feels and has the courage to be vulnerable about it with himself and others, he/she can so often liberate themselves from the negativity, projections, and judgments that mask what’s really going on.

    • While it can be difficult for one to “understand” another person’s perspective or situation being able to imagine what it must be like for them is an essential aspect of empathy. Whatever the situation is, the more willing one becomes to imagine what it’s like for the other person, the more compassion, understanding, and empathy one will be able to experience.
    • Forgiveness is one of the most important things one can do in life to heal himself, let go of negativity, and live a life of peace and fulfillment. Forgiveness has to first start with our own self. When one forgives himself, he/she creates the conditions and perspective to forgive others. Forgiveness is one of the many important aspects of life that is often easy to say than to do. It is something one needs to learn and practice all the time.

    Conclusion-

To be empathetic towards others gives mental peace. Being an overly empathetic, big feeling, thin-skinned, highly sensitive person is a blessing.

Write an essay on the topic ‘TIME’.

    Marks:20
    Answer:

    Time
    Introduction-
“Guard well your spare moments. They are like uncut diamonds. Discard them and their value will be never known. Improve them and they will become the highest gems in a useful life”– Ralph Waldo Emerson
    Thesis Statement-
The modern world is engrossed in a mad rush to be quick and efficient in every sphere of life. Advancement in technology has helped us to save more time. However, saving time has not really improved the quality of life nor has made it more fulfilling and happy.
    Body Paragraph-
§ Young generation indulge in multitasking to save time. Advent of various gadgets like computers, smart phones, I-pad etc. has made it possible to do many things simultaneously.
§ On the flip side, a person can only give a fraction of his concentration for each task while multitasking. This has adversely affected the quality of the work done.§ The time thus saved is not used in relaxation or rejuvenation but rather on work and more work.
§ This fast paced life has changed our definition of time. We are put into a rat race where everyone wants to be faster than the others. This has stripped us of inner peace and serenity.
§ Example- Mobiles, emails and social networking sites such as Facebook and Twitter have helped to connect people sitting far and wide, thus saving travel time. But this has robbed us of the pleasure of personal interaction. This holds true for our interaction with our nearest and dearest too !
§ This obsession of saving time thus may result in making us a socially awkward person.
    Conclusion-
It would be better for us to slow down our pace of life and pay more attention to ourselves and our surrounding, and then only we can enjoy the true beauty of life.
