    Marks:10
    Answer:

One day my father came home with a kitten. He said he had found it lying under the car. He was at his office parking lot and was about to get into the driver’s seat when he heard a “mew”. He checked under the car and saw an adorable little kitten hiding there. He said he couldn’t leave the kitten on the roadside so he brought him home.

We named him Dumpy and he took an instant liking to everyone. We gave him milk and it drank it blissfully. As Dumpy grew a little older, he got a lot naughty. Soon, the food started to disappear and when he found something worth chasing, he would jump on tables, causing our flower vases to crash on the floor. Then my mother saw scratches on our furniture. One day, she found my sister’s socks torn into shreds and decided that she had had enough with his behaviour. She took Dumpy and gave it to our neighbour. My sister and I were very sad.

The parent-teacher meeting was scheduled for tomorrow – scared of informing them – had been scolded for missing school – no way out – cooked a story …

    Marks:10
    Answer:

It was Friday morning and I was dreading the next twenty four hours already. The next day was Saturday-the day scheduled for Parent-Teacher Meeting. I didn’t have the nerve to tell my mother.

On Wednesday, I had to take an algebra test which I had missed earlier. I sat for the test but it didn’t go too well. I was distracted because I was excited about the drama auditions which were to take place that very afternoon. That night, my friends and I were discussing the auditions and didn’t realize that it was already past midnight. I couldn’t wake up in time for school Thursday morning and because I missed the bus, I also missed school. My parents reprimanded me sternly for being so careless. On Friday, I received my evaluated test. I scored slightly below average and the teacher scolded me severely. I was afraid of what awaited me. So, I decided to cook up a story.

My mother asked me on Friday evening about the Parent-Teacher Meeting. I told her that only the students who failed in their subjects needed to bring their parents. My mother wasn’t convinced. She turned up anyway and I was scolded twice – once by my teacher and once by my parents. It was not the best day of my life.
