FAQ

What is CUET, and who will conduct this exam?
CUET is a national-level entrance examination for admission into the undergraduate courses of various colleges across the country. The National Testing Agency (NTA) will conduct this exam.
What are the participating institutes?
All the central universities, such as DU, JNU, BHU, and other universities, such as TATA Institute of Social Sciences, and National Rail and Transportation institute, are participating. The revised list of all the universities will be released by NTA soon.
How many seats are available through CUET?
There are about 2 Lakhs seats available through CUET. However, this is a ballpark figure, and students should check the website of universities/institutes for the number of seats available in a particular course.
What is the eligibility for CUET?
The students who are appearing in class 12th exams or have passed class 12th with a minimum of 50% marks in class 12th for General category candidates and 45% marks for SC/ST candidates.
Where can one apply for the exam?
Students will have to fill out the application form on the CUET website- https://cuet.samarth.ac.in/. The application process started on 6th April and will continue till 6th May, 5.00 PM.
What is the application fee?
For domestic centers, the application fees for each category are as follows:
  • • Rs. 650 (General/ Un-reserved)
  • • Rs. 600 (General – EWS/ OBC – NCL)
  • • Rs. 550 (SC/ ST/ PwBD/ Third Gender)
  • The application fee for international centers is Rs. 3000.
What about the admit card and result declaration?
Admit card, recorded responses, answer key, and results will be shared on the CUET website - https://cuet.samarth.ac.in/. Students must keep checking the website for announcements and updates.
Is CUET difficult?
CUET 2022 is based on the NCERT syllabus of class 12. Those who have a good grasp of the class 12th syllabus will find it easy to crack this exam.
However, given the number of applicants, the competition will undoubtedly be challenging. Students should carefully and diligently strategize their preparation and practice answering as many sample papers as possible.
What are the exam timings?
The exam will be held in 2 slots-
  • • Slot 1- 9.00 AM to 12.00 PM (195 minutes) It consists of 1 language test from section IA, two domain-specific subject tests from section II, and the test of general aptitude, i.e., section III.
  • • Slot 2- 3.00 PM to 6.45 PM (225 minutes)It consists of one or two language/s from Sections IA and/or IB and the remaining 3 or 4 domain subjects (depending on how many languages the student takes).
How to decide what subjects to choose?
The students must prepare a list of courses and colleges of their choice. Each course/college will have its combination of subjects. This will help them decide which subjects to choose from each section for CUET 2022.
Can I apply for courses that I have not studied in class 12?
Of course, you can! CUET is designed to offer easy movement from one discipline to another. The requirement of each course will be broad or will allow multiple combinations of subjects.
How many attempts are allowed in CUET?
The number of attempts allowed to a student will depend on the college/university. Students must check the requirements on the college's website and apply accordingly.
