CBSE Class VI Computer Science Chapter 7 – Advanced Word features

The advanced features of Microsoft Word include Borders and Shading, Font Color, Insert Picture etc. To insert border and shading, click on Page Layout menu and select Page Border option from the Page Background group. Now, the desired border can be selected. To insert Shading, select the paragraph and then select the Shading tab from the Borders and Shading dialog box. By using this, the important text or paragraph can be highlighted.

To make the page more colourful, select Page Color option from the Page background group of Page Layout menu and then choose a desired colour. To insert a picture, bring the cursor to the desired place. Click the Insert menu on the ribbon and select the Picture option to insert a picture. Choose a file and click on Insert. The Header and Footer option is used to add some information that appears at the top and bottom margins of each page in a document. MS Word’s Find and Replace feature searches the document for specific text, which can then be highlighted, replaced with different text.

The AutoCorrect feature is used to automatically replace all the misspelled words with the correct spellings, as soon as the spacebar or the Enter key is pressed. A chart is a tool that is used to communicate data graphically. Various kinds of charts can be inserted such as Column chart, Line chart, Pie chart, Bar chart and many more.
