JEE Main Physics Important Questions with Solutions

JEE Main Physics Questions With Solutions

Introduction to the Exam:

Every year Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) is conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) to assess the students’ knowledge who wish to pursue technical courses. Based on the marks scored in JEE, students can seek admission to top engineering colleges across the country. The NTA also directs the JEE Main Counselling process for students.

JEE Main Physics Important Topic Questions

Candidates who appear for the JEE Main entrance exam consider Physics as a challenging section. It is difficult to score high marks in Physics as the questions might be tricky and confusing. Students should comprehend the JEE Main Physics syllabus and refer to past years’ question papers to answer JEE Main Physics questions.

JEE Main Physics Syllabus

JEE Physics questions are based on the NCERT syllabus of standards 11 and 12. The Physics paper is divided into two sections. Section A tests the student’s theoretical knowledge and holds 80% weightage of the Physics paper. The JEE Main physics questions asked in Section B examine the practical and experimental knowledge of the candidates. The JEE physics paper includes 30 questions of 4 marks each based on the following topics:

  • Physics & Measurement
  • Rotational Motion
  • Heat & Thermodynamics
  • Kinematics
  • Work, Energy, & Power
  • Properties of Solids & Liquids
  • Gravitation
  • Laws of Motion
  • Oscillation & Waves
  • Electronic Devices
  • Kinetic Theory of Gases
  • Current Electricity
  • Communication Systems
  • Electromagnetic Induction & Alternating Current
  • Magnetic Effects of Current & Magnetism
  • Electromagnetic Waves
  • Optics
  • Atoms & Nuclei
  • Electrostatics
  • Dual Nature of Matter & Radiation

JEE Main Physics Exam Pattern & Important Questions

Students are advised to be aware of the JEE Main exam pattern so that they can not only plan and schedule their preparation but also perform well and get high grades. The JEE Main Exam has a total of 300 marks. Paper 1 consists of 90 questions, out of which students have to answer a minimum of 75 questions. Every subject: Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics consist of 30 questions of 4 marks each. Physics JEE Mains questions include 20 MCQs in Section A and ten numerical-based, out of which five have to answer in Section B.

The marking scheme for JEE Main Physics questions is as follows:

  • Section A (MCQs)-

+4 marks for correct answer

-1 mark for incorrect answer

0 for questions not attempted

  • Section B (Numerical-based)-

There is no negative marking for numerical set of questions in JEE Main.

+4 marks for correct answer

0 mark for incorrect answer

0 for questions not attempted

Benefits of Solving JEE Main Physics questions

  • Solving Previous years JEE Main Physics questions helps students to understand the type of questions asked, tricks involved, and the weightage of each topic.
  • It helps them to plan and strategize their time effectively.
  • Students develop the problem-solving ability to answer any JEE Main Physics questions correctly and gain marks.
  • It boosts their preparation level and makes them exam-ready.

Do’s and Don’ts for JEE MAIN Exam

  • Students should complete the syllabus and practise as many JEE Main physics questions as possible.
  • Candidates are advised to start their preparation in the 11th class because starting earlier will strengthen their memory and increase their grasping ability.
  • Do not solve even the easiest problems in mind. Instead, write them down, solve them on a sheet, and ensure the answer you mark.
  • Remember, there is no redo. Once you mark an answer on the OMR sheet, you cannot change it. Therefore, do not answer JEE Main Physics questions in a hurry.
