CBSE Class VI Computer Science Chapter 14 – More on PowerPoint

Microsoft PowerPoint is a presentation graphics software that is used to present ideas effectively using diagrams, clip arts, audio, video, designs, animated special effects etc. The Slide Layout contains various objects like text, media clips, table, charts and clipart. To change the layout, click on the Layout option from the Home menu and then choose the desired layout.

To add data in the Layout Title and Content, click on the title textbox to insert a title and then choose the desired object to insert it. To apply Themes & Background Styles to the slide, select the desired Theme and then choose the desired background.

Tables in PowerPoint are used to represent data in tabular form. Row is the horizontal line of a table and column is the vertical line of a table. There are two ways to insert a table – by selecting rows and columns and by drawing a table. Charts in PowerPoint are used to show comparisons, growth rate and relationship among the values.

There are four types of charts, namely, column chart, bar chart, line chart and pie chart. Column chart displays data in the form of vertical bars. Bar chart displays data in the form of long rectangular bars. Line chart represents a continuous change in data, using lines & points plotted on the X axis and Y Axis. Pie chart displays data in the form of circle.
