Class 10 examination holds a very important place in a student’s life, as the results of Class 10 board exams can help determine the career path of a student. Students, teachers and parents leave no stone unturned to make sure that their preparation for the boards is complete in all aspects. However, a student’s board exam preparation can never be complete without solving the previous years question papers.
Most students often go through the previous years question papers for maths or science in their tuitions or classes, but it is equally important to be thorough in other subjects as well, including English and Social Science.
In class 10, students have four books for social science – Contemporary India, Understanding Economic Development, India and Contemporary World II, and Democratic Politics. While they must study each chapter to score the maximum marks, they must also consider solving the previous years question papers, to gain more clarity on the topics.
Practising the question papers within the stipulated time helps them get a preview of the final test. They can understand the types of questions asked in examinations, the structure of questions and marks distribution. They also learn about important topics and become mentally more prepared to answer complex questions. They get to pinpoint the frequently asked questions and learn time management skills.
Most importantly, they get to evaluate their performances and approach the final examination confidently. Lack of confidence often becomes a reason for poor performance. Thanks to Extramarks which maintains a bank of CBSE Previous Year Question Papers and CBSE Sample Papers, they can practice a lot and work on their weaknesses and realise their strengths. As a result, they will not come under stress when the final examinations finally come.
