Hum Panchi Unmukt Gagan Ke is an iconic piece of poetry written by Shivmangal Singh Suman. By using caged birds as a medium, the poet emphasises theimportance of freedom in the human world. Since birds are meant to fly, cages barren them from any excitement. The poet uses a bird to illustrate that they would rather have freedom than the comforts and cares that come with slavery. They want to drink the flowing water, eat bitter fruits, and compete with each other as they loom over the horizon. At the end of the poem, we can see that the bird is praying to God that they should be allowed to fly freely in the open sky.
