Whenever a multiple is divided by a factor, the answer is the other factor. So, in a way, we will be right in saying that division is the opposite of multiplication.

Other Ways of Distribution
There are more ways to divide the oranges into boxes. The oranges can be divided into 3 equal parts or 4 equal parts or 8 equal parts too. If we do this, the number of boxes required will change. Let us see how many boxes will be needed depending on the new distribution:
– For dividing into 3 equal parts we will need 16 boxes (48 ÷ 3 = 16)
– For dividing into 4 equal parts we will need 12 boxes (48 ÷ 4 = 12)

– Guess how many boxes will be needed for dividing into 12 equal parts?
The answer is 4 boxes. (48 ÷ 12 = 4)
