CBSE Class VII Computer Science Chapter 16 – Adobe Photoshop

Adobe Photoshop is a graphics editing program developed and published by Adobe Systems. The Toolbox contains the main tools that can be used to paint, select, navigate and edit images. The various tools are Marquee Tools, Lasso Tools, Crop Tool, Move Tool, Magic Wand Tool, Gradient Tool and Paint Bucket Tool. Palette Well is used to organise and manage palettes. Palettes are considered hidden when stored in the palette well. Clicking on the title of a palette stored in the well shows the palette. Color Picker is used to set the background and foreground colour. To open the Color Picker, click on the foreground or background colour in the Toolbox. Selection tools are used for selecting different portions of an image. The various types of selection tools are Marquee Tools, Lasso Tools, Magic Wand Tool and Crop Tool. Marquee Tools are used for selecting different areas of an image in a specific shape. Lasso Tools are used to create free form selection of the image. Magic Wand Tool selects consistently coloured areas on the image. Crop Tool is used to discard the unwanted areas of the image. The shapes in Drawing Tools can be drawn either by using Shape Tools or Custom Shape Tool. The two types of viewing tools are: Zoom Tool and Hand Tool. Zoom Tool is used to zoom-in an image by clicking on the tool on the canvas to see its magnified view or zoom out by pressing Alt. Hand Tool is used to adjust the picture on the screen.
