उत्तर: इन पंक्तियों के बताया गया है कि चील , कौवे , बाज, आदि पक्षी मुर्दे के मांस को नहीं छोड़ते मतलब मरे हुए जीव का मांस खाते हैं किन्तु विरह रुपी बाज पक्षी नागमती को जीते जी मार रहा है। यहाँ विरह की उपमा बाज पक्षी से की गयी है। बाज पक्षी तो जीव का मांस खाता है इसलिए वह जीव मर जाता है लेकिन विरह तो इंसान को जीते जी मार देता है।
