Poiseuilles Law Formula
The Hagen-Poiseuille equation, also known as the Poiseuille law, Poiseuille equation, or Hagen-Poiseuille law, is a physical law that determines the pressure drop in a Newtonian fluid that is incompressible and flowing in laminar flow through a long cylindrical pipe with a constant cross-section. It can be used to effectively control airflow in lung alveoli, as well as flow-through drinking straws and hypodermic needles. The equation makes the following assumptions: that the fluid is Newtonian and incompressible; that it flows laminarly through a pipe with a constant circular cross-section that is significantly longer than its diameter; and that there is no fluid acceleration inside the pipe. The actual fluid flow is turbulent for velocities and pipe diameters above a threshold, resulting in larger pressure drops than predicted by the Hagen-Poiseuille equation. Students must learn the Poiseuilles Law Formula. The Poiseuilles Law Formula
is important for solving questions. Students will be able to practice numerical questions related to the Poiseuilles Law Formula with the help of the NCERT solutions.
The Poiseuille’s Law formula is given by:
The pressure drop brought on by the fluid’s viscosity is described by Poiseuille’s equation, though other pressure drops may still happen in a fluid.
