It explores how the British transformed the old towns and villages into urban colonies; they organised various sectors of trade and commerce; they collected data about people and organised people into categories. British records inform us about the census, urban development, creation of cantonment areas, hill stations, and British infrastructure. Chapter 13: Mahatma Gandhi and National Movements

We also find out how the partition impacted millions of people who were made to choose between the two countries.
Chapter 15: Framing and the Constitution
The final chapter of the syllabus describes the formation of the constitution and how it came to effect in India. It reflects on the entirety of efforts, from the first vision of independent India to the ground realities of 1947.
