Barium chloride does not occur naturally. Barium Chloride can be easily obtained by roasting barite with coal and calcium chloride.
Barium chloride can be produced by conducting a two-step reaction from barium sulphate to produce the barium sulphate, which reacts with HCl to produce barium chloride:
BaSO4+ 4C → BaS + 4CO
BaS + 2HCl → BaCl2+ H2S
Barium Chloride can also be made from barium sulphide, which is hydrochloric acid.
