NET Full Form
NET Full Form is the National Eligibility Test. It is an important nationwide entrance examination for postgraduates who wish to pursue a PhD or a teaching career in India (UGC NET or NTA-UGC-NET). The NET Full Form is an examination which is conducted to determine the credential for the rank of JRF (Junior Research Fellowship) and Assistant Professor at Indian universities and colleges.
What is the full form of the NET?
NET is the minimum requirement for technical and research teaching. NET Eligibility Criteria
UGC (University Grants Commission) administers the NET. This examination is conducted across India by the UGC. The first test was conducted in 1989, and since then it is conducted twice a year. Study of science subjects is conducted by the UGC CSIR NET. The Council for Scientific and Industrial Research is responsible for this. Since December 2018, the NTA (National Testing Agency) is conducting the UGC National Eligibility Test instead of the CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education). This test is primarily designed to classify students for university lectureships and Junior Research Fellowships.
