ICSE Class 10 Art Syllabus
In this course, students will study different methods of painting and drawing, which will help them understand ‘Craft and Design’ in a better way. The examinations are almost all practical, and students must be prepared to practise in a highly coerced environment at the time of examination. The only way students can master this is by continuous practice and hard work.
The course requires students to study the subject with a much different approach than the other modules. In other modules, students are supposed to study theoretical concepts and practice sums, but they are continuously required to practice their topics in this module. Students will learn how to build a sense of aesthetic in the Art they will create, which can be most challenging if students don’t have knowledge about it from the previous grades. By studying this module, they will be able to explore its different domains and practise an active interest in the world of Art.

Exam paper-I:
consists of 3 hours duration. This paper consists of drawings or paintings from still inanimate objects: The maximum number of marks that can be scored is 100.
Students are asked to make a painting of any object or gather any similar or standard designs. It can include tiny blossoms, organic products, vegetables, and growing plants, just like homegrown plants or other non living objects . The collection can be sketched or painted. As per the environmental factors or the piece of the room where the collection is set, the work can be completed if the up-and-comer wishes. If the display is painted, the base should be included.
Exam Paper-II:
Consists of 3 hours duration and drawings or paintings about nature. The maximum marks that can be scored are 100.
Students need to sketch an attractive object from nature. This paper is further divided into two sections. Students will have to attempt either of the two sections. Extramarks suggest students make up their minds about the section they will try first.
Exam paper-III:
It consists of 3 hours duration with a test comprising original, imaginative composition in colour. The highest number of marks that can be secured is 100.
A paper containing a rundown of optional subjects will be given to students before the assessment program. The actual piece can be accomplished in the examination hall at least seven days from the distribution of the exam paper to the up-and-comers. Outlines or different syllabus notes should not be taken into the examination hall. Since this is an experiment of unique work, it would be inappropriate for any direction to be given to students other than imprinted one.
A variety of topics might be given as titles showing the module or stipulated subjects for consideration in the organisation. Students have to base their work, if imaginable, on points that the students have themselves perceived. Any procedure might be utilised, including what is conventional in the students’ region.
Exam paper-IV:
It consists of 3 hours duration, and it consists of applied Art. The maximum mark that can be secured is 100.
Students are supposed to answer any one question. This paper aims to check the capability of students’ craftwork where the material is limited to level paper, ink, and additional shading. Questions will be set as per the plan and implementation: The book cover, the page of a book, or the endpaper; a card, i.e. Christmas card or a greeting card; a notification or pictorial banner or image; a sketched paper for a specific reason.
