Introduction to Physical Education Class 10 ICSE Syllabus
The Physical Education Class 10 ICSE Syllabus taught to students is designed as per the ICSE board guidelines. The syllabus is divided into two sections. Section A consists of mandatory short answer questions, while section B comprises detailed and elaborated answers related to skills, rules, and different training techniques. The Syllabus in Section A of Physical Education consists of Human Growth and its Development, Body Types, Physical Education, Physical Fitness, Safety in Sports, Sports Training, Health Education, and finally, careers in Physical Education. Section B mainly focuses on six games or physical activities like Cricket, Football, Badminton, Basketball, Hockey, and Volleyball. In this section, students must know the fundamentals of any game they will be playing. For the examinations, questions would come around the various terminology, techniques, fundamentals, methods, skills, and rules applicable for different games. Two games are to be picked by students based on their choice for the Examination.
Due to the pandemic, the Board decided to reduce the Physical Education Class 10 ICSE syllabus by 30%. The council has taken severe measures to ensure that the quality of education is not compromised.

Physical Education Class 10 ICSE Syllabus: Semesters 1 & 2
There will be one written paper with two hours time duration, which carries 100 marks weightage and an Internal assessment of 100 marks weightage as well. The written paper in Physical Education Class 10 ICSE Syllabus is further Classified into two Sections.
Section A:
This part consists of mandatory short answer questions on Section A of the subject Syllabus.
- Power, Speed, Coordination, Agility, Balance and Accuracy.

Principles of Sports Training/Coaching: Individuality, specificity, progression, variance, frequency, continuity, overload, adaptation, Recovery, Reversibility, Periodisation, Intensity, Active participation and a brief understanding of all the above is included in the Physical Education Class 10 ICSE Syllabus.
Safety in Sports:
Sports-related injuries: Pulled muscle/Muscle strain, torn MCL (medial collateral ligament), torn ACL (anterior cruciate ligament), fracture, Plantar fasciitis, sprained ankle, tennis elbow, low back pain, hip bursitis, shin splints, stress fracture, Achilles tendonitis, concussion, and Runner’s knee.

Physical Education Class 10 ICSE Syllabus: Exercise and Solutions
