- The Question Paper is divided into two sections, A and B.
- Section A contains linguistic skills such as composition, letter writing, comprehension, and Grammar.
- The second half, Section B, has questions from Sanskrit textbooks.
- Out of a total 80 marks for the paper, both section A and section B comprises 40 marks each..

Combination of Subjects for Students Not Permitted to take the ICSE Examination
Students must understand which subject combinations they are not allowed to take. According to the ICSE Class 10 examination pattern 2023, there are a few topic combinations that are not allowed, such as:
- Environmental Science (EVS) in Group II and Environmental Applications in Group III are not permitted to be studied together.
- Similarly, Economic applications in Group III and economics in Group II are not authorised. Students are not allowed to study Commercial Applications in Group III with Commercial Studies in Group II.
- Sanskrit as a Classical language in group II and Sanskrit as a second language in group I are not permitted to be studied simultaneously.
- Each group’s Modern Foreign Language must be distinct and cannot be blended.
