What is the Full form of MC?
Menstrual Cycle is a series of biological changes that take place in the female reproductive system to develop the potential for pregnancy. Menstrual Cycle starts with the menstruation phase, which is commonly known as ‘the period’. During menstruation, the uterus sheds blood and tissues through the vagina. The MC Full Form is given as Menstrual Cycle.
The process and phases of menstruation
It is important to know the MC Full Form. There are four phases in the Menstrual Cycle. They are known as the menstrual phase, the follicular phase, the ovulatory phase, and the luteal phase. The structure of the ovary and uterus goes through some changes in the Menstrual Cycle. These changes happen in four phases, which are called phases of the Menstrual Cycle.
Menstrual phase
In the Menstrual phase, the uterus sheds blood and tissues, which flow out of the body through the vagina. This phase can last from 2 to 5 days.
It is advisable to use sanitary pads, tampons, menstrual cups, etc. during the menstrual phase.
Follicular phase
The follicular phase starts when the hypothalamus sends a signal to the pituitary gland to release follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH). This hormone stimulates the ovary to form follicles. Each follicle is present in the form of a small sac. Each follicle comprises one immature egg.
Ovulatory phase
This phase starts with ovulation. In this phase, the luteinizing hormone (LH) is released. In ovulation, the ovary releases one mature egg. The egg travels down the fallopian tubes towards the uterus to be fertilised by the sperm. If the sperm fertilises the mature egg, it becomes fertilised. The ovulatory phase is the only time for pregnancy.
Luteal phase
The Luteal phase lasts for about 14 days, if fertilisation does not occur. The luteal phase starts with the end of ovulation and ends with the onset of menstruation.
