PSLV Full Form
The PSLV Full Form is a Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle. It is an Indian extendable launch vehicle designed and maintained by the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO). It is India’s third generation launch vehicle and the country’s first satellite launch vehicle with liquid stages. PSLV was created to allow India to launch its Indian Remote Sensing Satellites (IRS) into sun-synchronous orbits. It is also capable of launching small satellites into geostationary transfer orbit (GTO). PSLV Full Form is also known as the Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle.

The PSLV Full Form is a Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle. ISRO has designed and operates an expendable launch vehicle in India (Indian Space Research Organisation). It is India’s third-generation launch vehicle, as well as the country’s first liquid-stage satellite launch vehicle. Technical specification of PSLV
PSLV is known as “ISRO’s Workhorse” owing to its repeated launch of many satellites into Low Earth Orbit. Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle is the PSLV Full Form. At a height of 600 km, up to 1,750 kg of cargo may be carried to the Sun-Synchronous Polar Orbits. Six solid rocket strap-on engines are used in the first stage of the PSLV-XL variant to increase thrust.
It is a four-stage launch vehicle that uses solid and liquid propulsion systems alternately, with solid rocket engines utilised in the first and third stages. Liquid rocket engines, on the other hand, are employed in the second and fourth stages. PSLV Full Form of the Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle
PS1 First Stage – The first stage uses the S139 solid rocket motor, which is supported by six solid strap-on boosters. The greatest thrust produced by this method is 4800 kN.
PS2 Second Stage – An Earth-storable liquid rocket engine was employed for the PSLV’s second stage. It is known as the Vikas engine, which is being developed by the Liquid Propulsion System Centre. The highest thrust available is 799 kN.
PS3 Third Stage – Following the atmospheric phase, a solid rocket engine provides the necessary thrust in the upper stages. The greatest thrust available is 240 kN.
PS4 Fourth Stage – This is the highest level of PSLV. It has two liquid engines that can be stored on Earth. The greatest thrust produced by this method is 7.3 X 2 kN.
Variations on the Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle
ISRO has made several modifications to the PSLV so that it can perform a variety of missions. PSLV stands for Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle.They are as follows:
- PSLV-G: This is a decommissioned launcher with four stages of liquid and solid propulsion systems that required 9 tonnes of fuel. This launcher had a capacity of 1,678 kg and could reach a sun-synchronous orbit of 622 km.
- PSLV-CA: It was released on April 23, 2007. This PSLV variant is capable of launching 1,100 kg to 622 km into the Sun-Synchronous orbit.
- PSLV-XL: It has a propellant load of 12 tonnes. The PSLV-XL was used to launch Chandrayaan 1 for the first time. It has a 1,800-kilogramme launch capability to the Sun-Synchronous orbit.
- PSLV-D: This, too, has a propellant load of 12 tonnes. The first time this was used was on January 24, 2019, while flying PSLV-C44.
- PSLV-QL: This aircraft flew the PSLV-C45 for the first time on April 1, 2019.
