How to prepare for JEE Main?

While preparing for the JEE Main exam, you need to focus on four key areas:

    1. Be thorough with the syllabus: When you start preparing, you have ample time at your hands. So, cover all the topics in the JEE Main syllabus at least once. It is a vast syllabus, but don’t skip anything at this stage. As the exam date nears, you will gradually identify your strong subjects, top-scoring chapters, and weak areas.
    2. Have a solid understanding of the concepts: Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics are highly concept-based subjects. So, instead of jumping to complex and lengthy problems, start with the basics. Practise fundamental-level questions regularly to strengthen your memory and understanding.
    3. Be familiar with the JEE pattern: A few months before the exam date, you should solve JEE Main mock tests, sample tests, and previous years’ papers. This will give you more confidence in your abilities to attempt the final test. Time yourself and identify what you can improve upon. The exam pattern may differ slightly each year, so go through the details on the official website of the National Testing Agency (NTA).
    4. Keep a positive mindset: Lastly, you should have faith in yourself and stay optimistic. Avoid comparing yourself to other students. Instead, keep making efforts at your end. Taking care of your health during this time will also keep you positive and stress-free.
