The JEE is the first step in every engineering aspirant’s journey to secure a seat in India’s top colleges. This exam requires earnest preparation because it has a vast syllabus and a high difficulty level.

If you wish to score well in the JEE Main exam, you must prepare thoroughly. As the exam date nears, your preparation should become more intense. First, you must complete the JEE Main Syllabus a few months before the exam. In this way, you will have plenty of time to revise your concepts, solve practice problems, and give JEE Main mock tests.

When you are in the final rounds of your preparation, you should become as much familiar as possible with the exam pattern. To achieve this, go through previous years’ question papers and use them to your advantage. Here are some tips:

  • Note the weightage of questions from different chapters and topics. If a certain topic has not been asked in the past few years, you can skip revising it and save time.
  • Solve the full-length paper as if you were appearing for the exam. Remove all distractions, and focus only on the paper for the next 3 hours.
  • Refer to the answer key and calculate your score. Identify the topics you need to revise.
  • If you are unable to attempt all the questions, assess the reason behind it. You might be spending too much time on long questions first or may need to work on your speed.
